The Garden in May

Pea plants with white blooms, radish plants below them.

The back half of the whole garden.

Strawberry...yum!

Onions in front, strawberries behind. The patch of dirt behind the strawberries contains squash seeds.

Tiny tomato plants and marigold plants, mulched with pine straw.

Asparagus plants.

Potato plants.

Young, not quite blue blueberries. That's a pretty color, though.

Greens.

Four beds of polebeans, just planted. More potatoes in the background.

Flower Meadow in the Back Yard

One of the things that made
Grandmother's farm
a magical place
were the flowers
that filled the yards around the house
every spring.

Having scattered seeds
for a couple years now
I'm beginning to see
the early stages
of my own flowering meadows.
